About this tournament

The inaugural Summer Slam Invitational is a billfish release tournament based at Sip Yard in Port Aransas, Texas. Fishing takes place August 14–16, 2026, with a $2,000 team entry fee and optional daily, overall billfish and Grand Slam pots. Contact Spencer Johnson at 361-406-7800.

Registration

Captain's meeting and registration: Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 6–8 PM at Sip Yard. The base entry covers a six-person team. The registration package includes the Clayton Chapin Band, three drink tickets, one meat ticket and one performance hoodie per person; extra tickets and shirts are available.

Scoring Rules

Optional daily pots at $1,000, $2,000 and $3,000 pay first and second 70/30. Optional overall billfish pots at the same levels pay first through third 50/30/20. The $3,000 Grand Slam pot is winner-take-all. The organizer flyer states 100% Calcutta payouts.
