About this tournament
The Hawaii International Billfish Tournament returns to Kona, Hawaii from August 1-9, 2026, with five days of competitive fishing running Monday through Friday, August 3-7. Anglers target blue marlin, black marlin, striped marlin, and sailfish in waters known for consistent big-game action. Operating since 1959, the HIBT emphasizes tag-and-release fishing and attracts teams from around the world seeking both trophy catches and the camaraderie that defines the event.
