The Mapelane Billfish Tournament, held in March at Mapelane in the Richards Bay area of South Africa's Indian Ocean, targets blue marlin, black marlin, striped marlin, and sailfish over four days of offshore competition. You've got full days on the water from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., running through the region's autumn season when billfish are actively feeding in the Natal Deep. The event is organized by the Mapelane Ski Boat Club and sanctioned by the Natal Deep Sea Angling Association.
