Hamptons Shootout

About this tournament

The Hamptons Shootout gives you a six-day weather window and lets you pick your shot: one 38-hour overnight run, or two 19-hour day trips. Boats leave from the Montauk, Shinnecock, Moriches or Fire Island inlets, fish within 145 nautical miles of the Shinnecock Inlet buoy, and run back to Shinnecock to weigh in at Sundays on the Bay, where the scale is open 3:00 to 8:00 PM daily. Entry is $2,500, or $2,200 early, against a $31,000 guaranteed payout plus optional calcuttas. Tuna carry the card - yellowfin, bigeye and albacore weigh in together, with bluefin scored separately - alongside wahoo, mahi, swordfish and tilefish, and blue and white marlin counted as video-verified releases. Separate awards run for outboard boats, 360-sonar and no-sonar divisions, juniors and female anglers. The overall Grand Champion is decided on points, and fishing this one alongside the Montauk Canyon Challenge puts you in the running for the New York Offshore Championship.
