About this tournament
The Ryukyu Big Game Fishing Tournament takes place April 25-26, 2026 in Ginowan, Japan, drawing trolling anglers from around the world to target marlin and sailfish in the Pacific waters off Okinawa. This two-day competition awards prizes to the team landing the heaviest fish, combining competitive fishing with an after-party featuring awards presentations and local entertainment. As Japan's first prize-money big game fishing tournament, RBGFT has operated since 2016 as a destination event for serious trolling captains.
