The Exmouth Heavy Tackle Tournament runs December 9-13 each year during the height of Exmouth's summer blue marlin season, with competitors fishing 37kg and 60kg line classes in waters beyond the 250m depth contour off Australia's North West Cape. You'll target blue, black, and striped marlin, with the scoring system weighted toward larger blue marlin to encourage pursuit of substantial fish on heavy tackle. The tournament format also recognizes catches of jumbo yellowfin tuna and other pelagic species in separate categories.
