The Blue Marlin World Cup Championship is a one-day global competition held on July 4 where teams fish for blue marlin across their own time zones worldwide, from established hotspots like Kona and Fiji to emerging destinations that have yet to produce a winner. With an entry fee of $5,000 per boat and an optional $8,000 Big Blue Challenge division, the tournament awards a single champion—there is no second place—with the 2025 winner taking home over $1.25 million in prize money. You can fish from your own vessel or charter a professional boat in blue marlin destinations around the globe, competing against top sport fishing teams for the chance to land the largest fish and claim bragging rights across the international fleet.
